Spotland is helping the contractor Barslund with a wide range of land survey services at the new hospital in Herning. We are in the process of creating drawings that are processed into machine control for the operation of the large machines. Thus, the machines are not dependent on physical deposition in the field. We also collect data for quality assurance from physical surveys and data from the machines, which are shown as a visual drawing. In addition, we provide ongoing advice on conducting land survey services to the contractor and the developer, as well as the overflight of the construction site by drone. The flight over is conducted in order to register the construction site and give us an overview of the amount of land and sand dumps.
In order to verify the migratory quantities on the motorway project ‘Måbjerg – Mejrup’, Spotland performed a drone-flyover of the project every 14 days with our fixed RTK / PPK drone.
The area mapped by the drone is around 235 acres, which corresponds to 328 football pitches. The collected data is used for continuous updating of the project’s 5D schedule as well as inventory and settlement to the developer. A 3D model of the project can be seen here.
Before the project started, we performed a drone-flyover of the area to determine the existing terrain. This gave us a ‘map’ to help us plan the project.
Subsequently, all work is done with machine control, and therefore no physical work in the field is carried out by our surveyors. The machines have a built-in GPS 3D system, which has enabled the machines to do the QA documentation of road construction themselves. The last phase of the project was to let the drone fly over the area again to deliver a complete 3D model to the customer.
On this contract, Spotland was in charge of Elindco and their subcontractors in connection with concrete structures, steel elements and construction works. The new sportspark will form the center of all sports and leisure in Espergærde, thus becoming the new local gathering place. The city must accommodate various sporting activities – from school sports, fitness, elite sports to test centers. In addition, the sportspark becomes a social gathering place for both the city’s young and elderly population.
